Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join our existing multi-disciplinary professional maintenance team in providing a safe environment for all service users, staff and visitors across our Suffolk & Norfolk sites being based in Norwich.

Main duties of the job

Duties & Responsibilities associated with this role include but are not limited to:

  • Carrying out routine, planned and reactive tasks to ensure our buildings and equipment is safe and fully compliant
  • Assisting the members of the maintenance team in all aspects of planned, routine and reactive maintenance across our estate
  • Assisting in the repair and maintenance of a wide range of buildings and equipment
  • Ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with the requirements of Health and Safety and other relevant legislation

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Full UK driving licence
  • City & Guilds, NVQ or BTEC qualifications in a mechanical, electrical or building field
Experience
  • Minimum two years work experience in a mechanical, electrical or building field having demonstrated versatility & flexibility
  • Practical experience of general maintenance
  • Experience of working in a mental health or secure services hospital environment
Knowledge
  • Understanding and knowledge of the inter-relationship between the building trades and electrical & mechanical services
  • Understanding of Health & Safety Regulations within the Workplace
