Operations Manager, Program / Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Contract Manager to lead and develop our electrical services function. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will play a critical role in driving operational performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering exceptional service across our electrical portfolio.
This is a leadership position where you will shape strategy, manage performance, and build a high-performing team to support our growth ambitions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the electrical operations team, ensuring strong performance, engagement, and development.
- Drive operational efficiency and profitability, delivering against budgets and business targets.
- Oversee full compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and certification standards.
- Manage P&L performance, including cost control, stock management, and resource planning.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with key clients, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Provide insightful performance reporting, including financial and operational metrics.
- Ensure excellent customer service across all electrical works, including EICR testing and remedial services.
- Champion health & safety, ensuring robust policies and safe systems of work are maintained.
You are a confident leader with strong technical expertise and a proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Budget management, forecasting, and cost control
- Delivering complex operational projects on time and within budget
- Strong knowledge of building regulations and health & safety legislation
- In-depth knowledge of electrical regulations (BS 7671, Electricity at Work Regulations)
- Experience with compliance frameworks (e.g. NICEIC)
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation
- 17th & 18th Edition BS 7671
- Inspection & Testing (2391 or 2394/2395)
- ECS Health & Safety qualification
- Full UK driving licence
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement
- Strong analytical and decision-making capability
- Project and resource management expertise
- Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
- Conflict resolution and escalation management
- A leadership role with real influence on business performance
