Position: Working Capital Manager (0505)

Join a high-performing finance team in a leading UK law firm, driving strategic improvements in working capital management and supporting the firm's growth ambitions.

Role

The Working Capital Manager will lead the firm's efforts to optimise cash flow, reduce cash lock‑up days and streamline processes across WIP (Work in Progress) and debt. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role manages both the billing and credit control teams, ensuring best practice in billing, collections and credit management. The successful candidate will be a proactive change agent who removes administrative burden from lawyers' desks, enabling fee earners to focus on client delivery.

Qualifications
  • CICM (Chartered Institute of Credit Management) accreditation, or demonstrable experience in WIP management within a law firm or similar professional services environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering process improvements and measurable reductions in cash lock‑up.
  • Experience managing billing and/or credit control teams, with evidence of talent development and succession planning.
