The OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced commercial leader to join a global maritime organisation as Head of Sales. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving the commercial performance of an established international product portfolio, leading a geographically dispersed sales team and delivering sustainable revenue growth across global markets.
Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will lead a team of Regional Sales Managers and Business Development Managers located across the UK and internationally, creating a high-performance sales culture while developing and running commercial strategies that strengthen market position and customer relationships.
This role offers the opportunity to influence business strategy, develop international markets & manage some of the companies key accounts, playing a key role within a specialist engineering and maritime business serving customers across the energy, marine and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute the global sales strategy for the product business to deliver ambitious revenue and profitability targets.
- Lead, coach and develop an international team of Regional Sales Managers and Business Development Managers.
- Drive sales performance through effective pipeline management, forecasting and KPI reporting.
- Identify new market opportunities, strategic partnerships and routes to market.
- Build and maintain relationships with key customers, distributors and industry stakeholders across international markets.
- Collaborate closely with operations, engineering, product management and customer support teams to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
- Lead commercial negotiations for high‑value contracts and framework agreements.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer requirements to inform commercial strategy.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across sales processes, CRM utilisation and commercial reporting.
You are an experienced sales leader with a record of leading international commercial teams within a technical or engineering‑led environment.
You will ideally bring:
- Experience leading multi‑site or international sales teams.
- A strong background in product sales within the maritime, offshore, industrial, engineering or energy sectors would be highly advantageous.
- Proven ability to develop and run successful commercial growth strategies.
- Experience managing Regional Sales Managers, Business Development Managers or equivalent senior commercial teams Internationally.
- Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
- The ability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally.
- A data‑driven approach to sales management, forecasting and performance improvement.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
