Principle Podiatrist - Diabetes

Fixed term contract/ secondment opportunity until 31st August 2028

We are seeking an exceptional, motivated and forward-thinking Principal Podiatrist to provide strategic and operational leadership for our award winning multidisciplinary diabetic foot service.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead one of the largest and most established diabetic foot services in the East of England. You will lead a highly skilled team of specialist podiatrists whilst working closely with consultant colleagues in diabetes, vascular surgery, and orthopaedics in outpatient clinics and inpatient setting. Linking closely with colleagues from the wider multidisciplinary team.

You will combine expert clinical practice with service leadership, workforce development, quality improvement and research. You will play a pivotal role in shaping future service delivery, ensuring provide evidence-based, high-quality care.

This role provides a unique opportunity to combine clinical practice while developing skills in research, innovation and academic leadership within a supportive environment. This role has become available as a fixed term contract while Dr Gooday steps away from frontline clinical leadership to focus on research. She will mentor the successful applicant.

• Lead, supervise, and develop a team of podiatrists and other team members to ensure high standards of clinical practice, professional development and workforce wellbeing.
• Work as a core member of the multidisciplinary diabetic foot team to support timely decision making and optimise outcomes.
• Lead the day-to-day management, financial and operational performance of the service.
• Lead and contribute to research, audit and service evaluation activities, supporting the Trust's commitment to innovation and evidence-based practice.

The team are proud to be recognised for their contribution to research and regularly publish in high-impact journals. Team members regularly contribute to national and international multicentre studies, conferences and guideline groups. The team delivers undergraduate and postgraduate training.

Provide highly specialised assessment, diagnosis and management of people presenting with complex diabetic foot complications.
