Head of PMO

Head of PMO post leading the Programme Management Office at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority, which oversees delivery of the region's programmes and priorities. The role centres on programme governance, assurance and risk, alongside leading the PMO team and supporting business cases and funding bids. It combines hybrid working with regular travel to Huntingdon and involves regular contact with senior leaders and external partners.

Candidates need substantial programme management and assurance experience, with a record of delivering complex, cross-organisational work.

• Lead and develop the PMO team to drive programme delivery
• Oversee programme prioritisation, governance and assurance
• Lead corporate risk management, audit reporting and business continuity
• Drive performance monitoring, reporting and programme evaluation
• Support business cases, funding bids and investment decisions
• Embed best practice project management and build organisational capability
• Build partnerships with senior leaders and external stakeholders

• Significant experience in programme management and assurance
• Proven track record of delivering complex, cross-organisational programmes
• Experience leading teams and influencing senior stakeholders

• Strong knowledge of governance, risk, budgets and performance reporting
• Excellent communication, strategic thinking and relationship-building skills
