Location: Norwich, Norfolk
Hours: Basic hours 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (Mon-Fri) / 7:00 am – 6:00 pm (seasonal variations apply)
The Role
As a Workshop Operative, you will be responsible for assisting with or completing the construction, production, and assembly of cases and related products using a variety of hand and power tools. You will work closely with the Workshop Manager and other team members to ensure high-quality production and adherence to company standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist with or complete the construction and assembly of cases using hand and power tools.
- Fabricate and assemble sub-assemblies to support the timely completion of complex products.
- Liaise with the Workshop Manager to implement work schedules and meet deadlines.
- Maintain high-quality production standards and report any issues promptly.
- Continuously develop skills to maximise efficiency in workshop operations.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures, including the correct use of personal protective equipment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to improve product quality and efficiency.
- A methodical and logical approach to work with a strong technical aptitude.
- Well-organised and able to work under pressure during busy periods.
- Adaptable, reliable, and a strong team player.
- Self-driven with a positive outlook and a focus on delivering high-quality results.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions effectively.
- Practical experience using hand and power tools.
- Ability to understand basic engineering drawings, methods, and terminology.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills, including basic material calculations.
- Flexible approach to working hours, with availability to work extended hours during peak seasons (December – March).
- Clean or near-clean driving licence preferred.
