Quality Control Technician
Duration: TBC, but most likely 2-3 months.
Hourly Rate: £13.73 p/hr
Working Hours:
37.5 hours per week (Mon-Thu 7:45-16:30 with unpaid lunch break 12:30-13:00; Fri 7:45-12:15)

To take an active role within our clients Engineering Quality Department, ensuring product components are inspected to meet design requirements.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Take an active role within the Quality Department, ensuring all activities undertaken are done so accurately and in a timely manner.
- Undertake inspection of purchased goods at the supplier's premises in Norwich and at the point of receipt, completing appropriate paperwork / reports as necessary.
- Undertake inspection of in-house manufactured components, completing appropriate paperwork / reports as necessary.
- Undertake inspection during build, on final assembly or on returned machines, completing appropriate paperwork / reports as necessary.
- Undertake dimensional checks for investigative purposes, completing appropriate paperwork / reports as necessary.
- Undertake the calibration of measuring instrumentation (e.g. micrometres, verniers, pressure gauges).
- Maintain calibration records and procedures.
- Ensure and report the temperature control of the Standards room.
- Carry out other tasks as reasonably requested by Line Manager, within the role holder's ability.
- Follow all safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- BTEC Level 3 in an Engineering discipline ideally.
- Experience working in a Quality Control role.
- Use and programming of the company CMM (Co-Ordinate Measuring Machine).
- Knowledge and understanding of calibration methods for mechanical tooling.
- Reading of engineering drawings and use of all measuring equipment.
- Use of company IT systems.
- Previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
- Highly self-motivated with a genuine desire to succeed and help move the business forward.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experienced user of Inspection Equipment (e.g. internal & external micrometres, depth gauges, verniers up to 1.5 m).
- Ability to use Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
- Attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work to and achieve challenging deadlines.
- Confident with Microsoft Office packages.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Team player.
- Desirable: writing and manipulating information in databases.
