Lotus Cars Limited, manufacturing facility in Norwich, is looking for a Plant Support Senior Technician to join our Facilities team.
Responsibilities- Keeping production managers informed of maintenance activities and job progress.
- Checking and calibration of key production and metrology equipment to satisfy internal and external audits.
- Undertaking minor improvements and project work relating to site services.
- Performing minor electrical and compressed air installations as required.
- Carrying out building maintenance activities as needed.
- Moving and installing small items of plant in production areas.
- Routine servicing work.
- Organising and planning larger maintenance tasks that require method statements and risk assessments.
- Responding to emergency breakdowns.
- Updating certificates and legislative documentation records.
- Daily monitoring tasks relating to site services and critical plant.
- Routine inspections and testing as part of general site walk‑around.
- Updating repair details & parts records on the computer maintenance system; keeping asset lists up to date and controlling Line Replacement Units.
- Repairing production equipment, fixing faults and conducting investigations relating to machine failures.
- Maintaining a tidy and organised maintenance workshop and maintenance work areas around the site.
- Following health and safety, environmental and other engineering standards that apply to the maintenance of plant and equipment site-wide.
- Managing stock of specialist components and spares relating to business‑critical plant.
- Working within a defined budget.
- Supporting and daily controlling external contractors, including checking method statements and risk assessments and raising work permits to control these activities.
- GCSEs in maths, science, English and design and technology.
- Understanding of engineering drawings and principles.
- Good practical and technical skills.
- Awareness of health & safety legislation.
- Experience in a maintenance role with another organisation.
- Strong teamwork skills, ability to work unsupervised and show calmness and orderability in a crisis.
- Eligibility to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
