Senior Composite Trimmer / Fitter

Salary: £28,730 - £39,780 per annum, depending on experience
Working hours:
42.5 hours per week with flexible start times
Overtime:
Paid at 1.3 times the standard rate
- Precision trimming and finishing of composite components.
- Working predominantly with prepreg carbon fibre, along with some glass fibre components.
- Bonding and complex assembly using structural adhesives.
- Working with jigs and fixtures.
- Following technical drawings and build manuals.
- Taking ownership of projects through trimming, bonding and final assembly.
- Maintaining the extremely high visual and cosmetic standards required for premium automotive components.
- Completing relevant production documentation and route cards.
- Working safely while maintaining quality and production deadlines.
- Strong hands-on composite trimming and fitting experience.
- Experience working with prepreg carbon fibre.
- Knowledge of, or experience in, autoclave composite manufacturing.
- Experience with structural adhesives and bonded assemblies.
- Experience working with jigs and fixtures.
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of your work.
- Confidence using relevant hand and air tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of visual quality standards.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new processes.
Experience with in premium automotive composites would be highly relevant. However, we are equally interested in strong candidates from aerospace, motor sport, marine or other advanced composites environments who have the right technical skills and quality mindset.

The business is expanding, and we are particularly keen to speak with someone who could eventually become a senior or supervisory figure and take responsibility for the department as the company develops.
You do not need to know every internal process from day one. There will be time to learn the company’s products, customers and manufacturing methods.
Attitude, ownership and a genuine commitment to producing exceptional work are extremely important.
Working HoursThe standard working day is approximately 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. However, the company offers flexibility around start times, with some team members choosing to begin earlier.
You will work approximately 42.5 hours per week, with overtime available and paid at time and a third.
