Role OverviewAs a Retention Marketing Strategist at Pivotal, you’ll be integral to supporting our clients’ retention initiatives beyond traditional email marketing. This role requires a creative mindset and someone keen on devising and implementing comprehensive retention strategies, including Email and SMS marketing, loyalty programs, and personalised engagement tactics.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Communication:
Ensure messages are timely, relevant, and personalised, crafting strategies that provide the right message to reach the right person at the right time, enhancing customer engagement. - Customer Loyalty:
Innovate and implement strategies to deepen customer loyalty such as loyalty programs and personalised engagement tactics, targeting diverse consumer bases to encourage repeat business. - Collaboration with the broader Marketing Team:
Work closely with and be supported by various teams, including PPC, Content, and Optimisation, to ensure a unified approach to marketing strategies. - Analytical Approach:
Leverage data to inform strategies and tailor campaigns to enhance customer lifetime value and retention, utilising tools such as Google Analytics. - Client Communication:
Build long‑term relationships with clients, regularly jump on calls and work with them to increase customer retention. - Work closely with the Marketing Manager to devise comprehensive email and retention strategies for various eCommerce clients across multiple industries.
- Work within the email marketing team to build comprehensive email marketing flows.
- Develop and help execute innovative retention strategies, including loyalty programs, referral schemes, and customer feedback mechanisms.
- Segment customer bases and craft targeted campaigns to enhance customer loyalty and satisfaction.
- Utilise analytics and data‑driven approaches to understand customer behaviours and improve lifetime value.
- Regularly communicate with clients and internal teams to align on strategies and goals.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of retention strategies, adjusting tactics as needed to meet objectives.
- Collaborate with the wider marketing team, including PPC, Optimisation and Content teams, on top‑down marketing strategies, ensuring cohesive cross‑channel campaigns.
Qualifications & Skills
- 3+ years experience creating and sending emails using platforms such as Klaviyo and Mailchimp.
- 3+ years of e‑commerce experience, either agency or in‑house.
- Excellent communication skills and previous experience working with clients or customers.
- Excellent organisational skills to handle multiple projects across clients simultaneously, meeting deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and take ownership of your work demonstrates strong initiative.
- Experience using software such as Adobe Suite, Canva, Figma, etc.
- A creative mindset with a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent written English skills.
- Strong analytical skills with Google Analytics experience.
- A degree or other relevant qualifications in Marketing or Business.
- Experience in other areas of marketing (Conversion Rate Optimisation, PPC, SEO, Affiliate marketing, Social and influencer marketing).
- Experience with the backend of E‑commerce platforms such as Shopify, Adobe Commerce, Big Commerce, Woo Commerce, etc.
- Copywriting skills.
