We have an exciting opportunity for two Grounds Operatives 2 to join our grounds maintenance teams at Eaton Park and Bowthorpe (Statics) at Norwich City Services Limited. Positions available: 1x Eaton Park and 1x Bowthorpe (Static). This is a 12-month fixed-term position. Responsibilities- Care for and enhance the green environments of parks, open spaces, and housing areas throughout the Norwich area.
- Carry out grass cutting, hedge trimming, shrub bed maintenance, and litter clearing.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and operate various commercial equipment—including 4x4 trucks, ride-on mowers, and quad bikes—and safely maintain hand tools.
- Interact with the public to resolve everyday issues, provide updates to the line manager, and uphold health and safety standards in all weather conditions.
The role blends practical fieldwork with operational accountability and machinery handling.
Qualifications- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Lantra qualification or equivalent in the safe use of hedge cutters, strimmers, pedestrian mowers, ride-on mowers, hand and backpack blowers.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of grounds maintenance activities.
- Able to carry out physical work in all weather conditions.
Responsible for key operational delivery and maintenance of Norwich City's streets, parks and properties by utilising all of the services that our environmental and building repairs teams have to offer. - 25 days annual leave, rising by a day each year until 30 days is reached, plus 8 bank holidays and a Christmas shutdown period.
This role is 37 hours per week, but to ensure flexibility and promote an inclusive workplace part-time hours or a job-share agreement will be considered.
