West Sussex Job Type: Full-time Salary: £37.5k to £40k per annum A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Quality, Controls & Regulatory Specialist, to join a growing team. Within this role the successful applicant will be instrumental in delivering robust 1st line operational assurance. You will be pivotal in ensuring that controls and quality standards are effectively designed, operating as intended and aligned to regulatory, risk, and policy requirements.
Day-to-Day duties of the Role:
Control Testing & Assurance:
Perform design effectiveness reviews and operating effectiveness testing across operational processes. Deliver QA sampling and transactional quality checks across end-to-end processes. Produce high-quality assurance reports with insights, findings, and recommendations. Maintain assurance documentation including scripts, walkthroughs, and working papers. Quality Assurance, Calibration & Operational Feedback:
Facilitate calibration sessions to ensure consistent QA standards. Provide structured, real-time feedback to Team Leaders and support training on QA, assurance expectations, and control standards. Conduct thematic reviews and targeted sampling. Risk, Controls & Governance:
Promote strong 1st line risk and control practices and support the maintenance of the controls library. Monitor trends in exceptions, EDD cases, fraud cases and data-fix volumes. Attestation Cycles & Issue Management:
Oversee attestation activity including dip testing and validations. Identify control gaps, non-compliance, and emerging risks. Track and validate remediation actions. Stakeholder Engagement:
Build strong collaborative relationships across operational, risk, and assurance teams. Communicate findings effectively and support readiness for internal/external audits. Required Skills &
Qualifications:
Strong understanding of control frameworks and quality assurance processes. Ability to apply professional curiosity to understand how controls operate in practice. Demonstrated ability to articulate conclusions confidently and escalate concerns where required Desirable (not essential):
Experience in Financial Services, ideally pensions or automatic enrolment. Professional qualifications such as Internal control or assurance certifications, CII, Lean Six Sigma, or Risk management certifications are advantageous. Benefits:
