Postdoctoral Researcher – Chromatin-Associated Co‑transcriptional RNA Folding
Salary: £39,000 – £46,500 per annum

OverviewApplications are invited for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Ding group at the John Innes Centre to study the chromatin‑associated co‑transcriptional RNA folding in plants.
Responsibilities and Activities- RNA structure profiling, data analysis and study of chromatin‑mediated gene regulation (60%)
- Prepare results, reports and manuscripts for publication in leading scientific journals (5%)
- Collaborate within the Institute to develop original research and contribute to research proposals and grant applications (5%)
- Supervise visitors to the laboratory, assist with training and support scientific excellence (5%)
- Present research findings at internal, national and international meetings (5%)
- Liaise with industry and external stakeholders (5%)
- Ensure good practice, scientific integrity and compliance with policies and regulations (5%)
- Seek excellence and pursue learning and development opportunities (5%)
- Other duties as agreed with line manager (5%)
- PhD (full award or expected within 6 months) or equivalent in biology, genetics, bioinformatics or computer science (essential)
- BSc or equivalent in related fields (essential)
- Experience in RNA biology, chromatin‑mediated gene regulation (essential)
- Proven record in scientific writing and grant proposal preparation (essential)
- Experience of oral research presentations (essential)
- Experience supervising, training and mentoring visitors and students (desirable)
- Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders (essential)
