Lab Tech / Assistant, Research Scientist, Research Assistant/Associate
Location:
Norwich Research Park, Norwich Salary: £24,250 - £26,500 per annum (Depending on experience) Job Type: Full-time (Indefinite basis);
Part-time (3-4 days/week) considered Closing Date: 31st March 2026
You will provide a high standard of technical support to academic and research staff, following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
Key Responsibilities- Laboratory Housekeeping:
Managing general cleanliness and organization of diverse research labs. - Waste Management:
Safe disposal of hazardous waste materials. - Technical Support:
Media preparation, glassware maintenance, and stock management. - Logistics:
Checking packages to ensure they are safe for transport. - Health & Safety:
Monitoring safety equipment and ensuring strict adherence to laboratory protocols and regulations. - Service Delivery:
Providing a professional support service to the institute’s researchers and students.
Please note:
This is a support-focused role; the post holder will not conduct independent research.
- At least 3 A-levels (Grades A-E) or an equivalent qualification.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and Science.
- Laboratory
Experience:
Previous experience working in a laboratory environment is essential. - Communication:
Excellent team-working skills and a strong customer-service mindset. - Organization:
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail. - Autonomy:
Ability to work independently while remaining a reliable team member.
