Relief Chef

We are seeking a talented and flexible Relief Chef to join our culinary team on an as-needed basis. The Relief Chef will step in to cover absences, assist during peak periods, and support special events across various locations.

This role is perfect for a versatile and experienced chef who enjoys a dynamic work environment and has a passion for cooking.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook meals according to menu specifications and dietary requirements
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company policies
• Adapt to different kitchen environments and work collaboratively with diverse teams
• Assist with menu planning and development when needed
• Manage kitchen operations efficiently, including inventory management and stock control
• Provide training and support to kitchen staff as required
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen at all times

• Proven experience as a Chef in various settings (e.g., restaurants, hotels, schools, care homes)
• Culinary qualification or relevant training is preferred
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
• Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to different kitchen environments
• Excellent cooking skills and creativity in menu planning
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• An Enhanced DBS will be required to work in schools and care homes
• Availability to travel to different locations as needed
