As a Sales Assistant you’ll support your store team with driving sales performance and the day‑day running of your store. You’ll deliver exceptional customer service and experience to optimise KPI performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesAt Majestic Wine our customers are at the heart of everything we do. In this role, you’ll be an ambassador for the store in which you work, supporting the team to deliver an outstanding shopping experience for every one of our customers.
- Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and supporting the team in meeting and exceeding targets through a focus on KPI delivery.
- Deliver exceptional market‑leading customer service to drive business growth through customer loyalty and repeat purchases.
- Offer a VIP concierge service by actively contacting customers with updates on products and tastings.
- Sell the story not the discount, sharing your passion for product through in‑depth knowledge of our range.
- Take ownership of your wine knowledge, constantly learning about our products to support your WSET qualification and confidence in selling.
- Take accountability and pride for the physical appearance and maintenance of the store, both internally and externally.
- Participate in all operational tasks required for the day‑day running of a Majestic Wine store, from delivering wine to customers, merchandising stock deliveries, and contacting customers to drive sales opportunities.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve operational running of the store, feeding ideas back to the wider team for joint implementation.
- Remain fully compliant, safe, and legal by following internal policies, processes, and completing mandatory training.
- Serve as an example of Majestic’s Ways of Working and support junior team members, providing feedback to the Store Manager as appropriate.
- Understand opening and closing compliance as a key holder and confidently operate the store independently from the management team.
- Excellent time‑management, delegation, and problem‑solving skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and service to every customer.
- Self‑motivated and able to thrive when working alone and as part of a team.
- Can‑do attitude with a passion for seeing problems through to solutions.
- Adaptable and resilient to meet ever‑changing business demands.
- Excellent communication and time‑management skills.
- Wine knowledge is beneficial but passion to learn more is essential to pass level 2 WSET wine qualifications.
- Hold a full UK, manual‑transmission driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.

- Driving is key; comfortable driving a company van is essential, with a full UK manual driver’s licence held for at least 12 months.
