Over the years, car and utility vehicle operations were added, and dealerships multiplied- first regionally until 2013, then nationally, before expanding internationally in 2019. In 2024, SAGA Mercedes-Benz expanded to England with the acquisition of 10 dealerships, previously owned by Sparshatt Truck and Van and Motus Truck & Van.

Job Description The Business Development Executive (BDE) – is responsible for driving sales growth of Mercedes-Benz Van products by identifying and converting new business opportunities, building strong relationships with SME businesses, and delivering an exceptional customer experience aligned with Mercedes-Benz and SAGA brand values.
This role requires a strategic and consultative approach to individual and B2B selling, with a focus on driving field sales. The BDE will work closely with internal teams to ensure customer needs are met efficiently, from vehicle selection through to financing and aftersales support. Working hours Between the hours of 08:00am to 6:00pm Monday – Friday, your start and finish times will be agreed with your manager and must be flexible within these core hours to suit the needs of the business.
You are required to work a minimum of 8 hours per day, excluding a 60-minute unpaid break. This equates to a total of 40 hours per week. You are also required to work Saturdays between 9:00am – 1:00pm on a rota basis. This time will be given back in lieu. Basic annual pay £27,000 Annual OTE potential £41,000 - £64,000 Your Responsibilities
- Sales generation: actively prospect and develop new leads within the commercial van market segment across the UK. Identify and pursue opportunities to increase sales volume and market share.
- Client relationship management: build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients across the UK. Understand their business objectives, transportation requirements, and provide personalised solutions.
- Product knowledge: develop a deep understanding of the commercial van models, features, and specifications. Educate clients on the benefits of our products and services.
- Consultative selling: employ a consultative selling approach to understand client needs and recommend appropriate van models, configurations, and financing options.
- Negotiation and closing: negotiate terms of sale, pricing, and contracts with clients. Close sales transactions in a timely and efficient manner.
- Pipeline management: manage sales pipeline and effectively prioritise activities to maximise sales opportunities and achieve revenue targets.
- Market analysis: stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments. Utilise market insights to identify new business opportunities and drive sales growth.
- Documentation and reporting: maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and transactions. Prepare regular reports on sales performance, forecasts, and market trends.
- Customer service: provide exceptional customer service before, during, and after the sales process. Address customer inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and professionally.
- Collaboration:
collaborate closely with other departments and individuals such as a dedicated Customer Support Executive (CSE), Business and Compliance Administrator and the Sales Admin function to ensure seamless customer experience and satisfaction.
