The Role
A well-established building services contractor is seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join its growing team on a long-term, secure contract. This is a mobile position covering domestic and commercial properties within the allocated region.
The role involves the service, maintenance, repair, and installation of commercial gas, heating, and associated mechanical systems. You will be expected to work safely, professionally, and in full compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
* Service, maintain, and repair commercial gas systems
* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance works
* Install commercial gas, plumbing, and heating systems
* Ensure all works comply with Gas Safe and health & safety regulations
* Complete job reports, certificates, and compliance documentation accurately
Essential Qualifications & Tickets
Candidates must hold current, in-date commercial gas qualifications, including:
Core Commercial Gas Tickets
* COCN1 – Core Commercial Gas Safety
* CODNCO1 – Changeover Domestic to Commercial (where applicable)
* CIGA1 – Indirect Gas Appliances
* CORT1 – Commercial Pipework
* CDGA1 – Direct Gas Appliances
Registration
* Gas Safe Registered (commercial categories)
Desirable / Additional
* Experience with oil-fired systems (OFTEC – advantageous)
* Experience with medium and high-pressure gas systems
* COMCAT 1–5 (depending on appliance exposure)
* ICPN1 – Installation of Commercial Pipework
* CSCS card (preferred)
Experience & Personal Requirements
* Proven experience working as a Commercial Gas Engineer
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability
* Full UK driving licence
* Ability to work independently in a mobile role
* Strong understanding of compliance and documentation
* Professional, reliable, and customer-focused approach
