Practice Consultant | 9617 | Permanent Contract | 18.5 hours per week | £21,911 to £24,113 per annum | (Grade K) | Norwich
We offer a £2000 welcome payment for qualified and experienced Social Workers/Occupational Therapists (grade J and above), Practice Consultants and Team Managers new to Norfolk County Council. Amount to be repaid in full should you leave within two years of employment.
For experienced Social Workers new to Norfolk County Council we promise to try and match or better your existing salary, providing it in the spectrum of the grade advertised.
The Social Care Community Engagement Team is at the forefront of the ‘Human Learning Systems’ roll out and the implementation of the Early Help and Prevention Assessment and its strengths-based approach to Social Care.
Responsibilities- Lead and support a team of case holding Assistant Practitioners and Occupational Therapists across all adult social services disciplines.
- Take a lead role in the team, including managing workflow and providing casework consultancy to Assistant Practitioners.
- Work closely with locality colleagues to shape front‑door services for the future.
- Motivate staff, contribute to the change agenda, and innovate in case management.
- Support adults in need of care and support at a time of crisis.
- Registered Social Worker with Social Work England, with three years post‑qualifying social care/health employment.
- Passion for supporting adults in crisis and a desire to develop professional knowledge through further training.
- Strong casework, management and improvement skills.
- Desirable: experience or interest in becoming a Best Interest Assessor, Approved Mental Health Practitioner or Practice Educator.
