Residential Children’s Practitioner – Level 3
Permanent Contract – 37 hours per week (including on call and sleep‑in, evenings and weekends as required) – £34,434 to £36,363 per annum – Grade H – Heather Cottage Children’s Home, Norwich
This is an exciting opportunity in Norfolk Residential Children’s Homes providing emergency and time‑limited, specialist care for young people (male and female) aged between 8 and 17 years when family, foster care, mainstream residential or other community‑based placements are not possible or desirable at the time.
Responsibilities- Share specialist knowledge and experience in the induction of casual and new staff members.
- Provide supervision sessions and mentorship for team members within the home.
- Act as a positive role model for less experienced staff and provide feedback to management on opportunities and concerns.
- Deputize for the management team when working as part of the manager on‑call rota.
- Work a split week between sleep‑in shifts and office days, depending on the needs of the home.
- Commitment to making a difference in the lives of young people.
- Reliable, with strong personal relationship and communication skills and high professional standards.
- Background in residential care desirable; previous work with young people essential.
- Full driving licence required.
