Position: Housing Solutions Officer (Early Intervention)
Housing Solutions Officer - Early Intervention & Prevention Specialist

We are excited to announce this opportunity to join our Housing Team as a Housing Solutions Officer
- Prevention. This role is designed to prevent homelessness at the earliest opportunity and will involve proactively engaging with customers who may be at risk of becoming homeless, providing targeted outreach work to those facing future homelessness. This will be achieved by working with a range of external partners and working across teams within the Council.

Key Responsibilities

To identify where applicants may become homeless or threatened with homelessness and be owed statutory duties under homeless legislation in the future.
To provide positive interventions to customers at risk of homelessness and who lack the support or skills to prevent their situation worsening, using data to identify and target those most  collaborate effectively with partner agencies, landlord and letting agencies.
To make effective preventative services and tools available to help prevent homelessness and crisis from arising.
To appropriately refer customers for casework provided by our Housing Solutions Officers.
To improve awareness and public knowledge of benefits, homelessness, housing shortages and issues in the area.

Qualifications & Experience

Demonstrable experience of working collaboratively with a range of professionals.
Knowledge of the housing market, housing issues and the options and support available to resolve housing problems.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to different audience.
Excellent organisation skills, managing own workload and ensuing the delivery of key priorities.
Ability to build effective relationships built on trust.
Creativity and tenacity to find innovative solutions to complex problems.
