Why Break?

Break invests in the future of our staff as we do for the young people in our services. We strive to provide the highest quality of care, and you’ll be supported, recognised and rewarded for your essential part in our vital work.

About the role

As a Break Team Leader, you will play a vital role in helping young people achieve positive outcomes. You will motivate your team to deliver engaging, safe, and inspiring shifts and create positive experiences where colleagues and young people feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed. You will provide guidance to ensure the continued delivery of high-quality care and support.

You will celebrate milestones in our disability services. While not every day will be easy, you will feel pride in the young people you support and care for.

You will need to be an excellent team player who is warm, compassionate, calm, and resilient, with the ability to support young people with complex emotional, behavioural, and additional needs. Through empathy, patience, and commitment, you will help make a meaningful and lasting difference in the lives of young people with disabilities, enabling them to achieve their potential and thrive.

Ideally, you hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare. If not, you will be expected to complete it within 24 months of starting. The qualification is fully funded by Break, with support from our training team while you complete it.

In your role, you’ll have access to the following benefits
  • Free, career-enhancing qualifications
  • A “golden hello” scheme welcoming you to our services, with £500 paid one month after your start date and a second £500 at the six-month mark (not available to candidates referred by recruitment agencies)
  • A referral scheme offering the same two payments if you recommend a contact who goes on to be employed by Break in care services (subject to conditions)
  • 31 days annual leave per year (including bank holidays)
  • Annual leave purchase
  • Additional service-related holiday from 2 years
  • Company funded medical cash plan
  • Enhanced sick pay and family friendly leave
  • Pension salary sacrifice
  • Life assurance to the value of 3x your annual salary
  • Access to the Blue Light benefits platform with discounts across shops, venues and services (membership fee reimbursed)
  • Access to multiple wellbeing initiatives
  • Opportunity to influence Break’s strategy through the Staff Consultation Forum
  • Cycle to Work and Tech scheme
