Position: Residential Children’s Practitioner Level 1 – Make a Difference

Overview

Residential Children’s Practitioner – Level 1 & 2 | 10936 | Permanent and Secondment Opportunity / Temporary Fixed Term Contract for 12 Months | Full-time 37 hours per week / Part-time 18.5 hours per week | £26,824 - £33,699 per annum pro rata | Grade E/G | Hethersett, Norwich

Roles

2 x full-time permanent contracts, 37 hours per week and 1 x part-time temporary contract for 12 months, 18.5 hours per week.

Levels and pay
  • Level 1 – Grade E £26,824 to £28,142 per annum pro rata, plus sleep-in allowance and weekend enhancements.
  • Level 2 – Grade G £32,061 to £33,699 per annum pro rata, plus sleep-in allowance and weekend enhancements.
Role context

This is an exciting opportunity in Norfolk Residential Children’s Homes providing emergency and time-limited, specialist care for young people (male and female) aged 8 - 17 years, when family, foster care, mainstream residential or other community-based placements are not possible or desirable at the time.

Responsibilities

Level 1 Residential Children’s Practitioner: provide direct care and support to children and young people, helping to create a safe, stable, and nurturing home environment. Support daily routines, build trusting relationships, encourage participation in education and activities and contribute to positive outcomes for children.

Level 2 In addition to Level 1 tasks, contribute to an assessment of the child’s needs with the objective of reunification, a move to a family or community-based placement, or a longer term or more specialised residential home.

Requirements

You will need to be committed to making a difference in the lives of young people. You will need to be reliable, have good personal relationships and communication skills as well as high professional standards. A background in residential care is desirable, previous work with young people is essential and a full driving licence is required for all posts.
