Events and Communities Coordinator; Young

We are looking for an energetic Events and Communities Co-ordinator to join our Communities team in a role where you will help to turn ideas into action across Broadland and South Norfolk, helping to shape opportunities for young people, bringing communities together and creating lasting memories and experiences.

Teens programme, community events and youth-focussed engagement activities, build strong partnerships and create opportunities that can help communities thrive. Working with schools, community groups and partner organisations, you'll help to deliver impactful projects and sessions.

You will lead the delivery of the Council's Tots2

Teens programme, managing, developing, implementing and evaluating all aspects of the service. You'll ensure legal, childcare, health and safety and statutory requirements are met, whilst overseeing recruitment, administration, staffing, budgets, training, rotas and payroll. You'll also recruit and line manage up to 25 seasonal activity staff.

As a Designated Child Protection Officer and Data Protection Champion, you'll provide support and guidance to colleagues, maintain accurate records, liaise with safeguarding partners, make referrals where required and ensure Council projects remain compliant with data protection requirements.

Working closely with colleagues and partners, you'll support the delivery of the Council's in-house events, including Community Awards and 10km races, ensuring they are delivered effectively, efficiently and within budget. You'll evaluate initiatives, produce impact reports, build strong relationships with schools, community groups and partner organisations, and help increase opportunities for residents to engage in arts and cultural activities.

You'll also coordinate and support funding opportunities through corporate social responsibility initiatives, external funding sources and partnership working to enhance the Council's delivery and strengthen community capacity.

You will hold a minimum Level 3 qualification suitable for a Playwork setting and have a track record of successfully managing projects and delivering events on time and within budget. With excellent organisational skills, you'll be comfortable balancing multiple priorities, working to tight deadlines and remaining effective in a fast-paced environment.

You'll ideally have experience of managing and developing staff, supporting them to grow and perform at their best.

As part of the role, you'll be required to obtain and maintain Designated Safeguarding Officer, Special Educational Needs and First Aid qualifications and successfully complete an enhanced DBS check.
