Warehouse Operative

Reports To: Warehouse & Logistics Manager

Staffing Innovations is recruiting for a dependable and safety-conscious Warehouse Operative to join a busy and dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a forklift truck and supporting general warehouse duties to maintain smooth operations.

The Warehouse Operative is responsible for operating a Forklift Truck to move, locate, relocate, load, stack, and count products. Additionally, the operative ensures the safe and efficient use of vehicles and general warehouse upkeep.

• Take responsibility for health and safety for yourself and colleagues, ensuring all procedures are followed and safe working practices encouraged.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Operate forklifts, power pallet trucks, and other machinery safely across all sites.
• Conduct daily pre-operation forklift checks and complete all necessary documentation, reporting any faults to the line manager.
• Stack, de-stack, and re-stack lorries, trailers, and containers efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness of warehouse, yards, and related areas as directed.
• Complete administrative duties related to vehicle loading/unloading and stock control, including recording and computer inputting of delivery notes and other records.
• Carry out systematic stock checks as directed.
• Perform all duties with care, attention to health, safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
• Unlock and lock premises when required.
• Perform other general warehouse tasks as reasonably requested by the company.
• Maintain flexibility to work across various areas and tasks, including outside the warehouse as needed.

• Good written and verbal communication

• Adaptability to operate multiple types of machinery
• Teamwork skills to collaborate with employees and external parties such as lorry drivers

• Experience in a similar warehouse role
• Full, valid B1 Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence

• Team player with the ability to work independently

• Strong interpersonal skills to maintain good working relationships across departments
• Flexible and willing to adapt to different tasks and areas
