Customer Delivery Hub, Driver Installer

About the role

As one of our Installation Specialists based in a Customer Delivery Hub, you'll deliver products such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems and TV sets to customers’ doors.

You will work as part of a 2‑person delivery crew, driving a 7.5‑tonne vehicle.

Minimum age 18 years.

• Act as an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with outstanding customer service.
• Load the lorry with the day’s deliveries in cooperation with the warehouse team.
• Respect customers’ homes and solve unexpected situations to find the best solution.
• Install products efficiently and demonstrate their use to customers.
• Keep up to date with new products and technologies.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
• Handle heavy lifting of large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds and mattresses.

• Previous installation experience; company will provide installer accreditation.
• Manual C1 UK driving licence with maximum 6 points.
• DCPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) or driver qualification card on day one.
• Tachograph card.
• Experience driving a 7.5‑tonne vehicle.
• Customer‑facing experience.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Good understanding of technology.

• Installation and disconnection of white goods.
• TV installation.
• Assembly of flat‑pack furniture.

Full Time – 41 hours – four days from Monday to Saturday between 06:00 and 17:00.
