We have an exciting opportunity for a Streets Operative Driver to join our service-driven street cleansing maintenance team at Norwich City Services Limited on a permanent contract. The general focus of this role is to help maintain and improve the standard of the Streets cleansing operation within the Norwich area, ensuring our public spaces are kept clean and tidy. This role is responsible for ensuring Norwich's streets, bin locations, and public spaces are maintained to the required contractual standards. Following a programmed and agreed operational schedule, the post holder will execute a variety of street cleansing tasks—including emptying street bins, litter picking, and sweeping bin area locations. Key duties include conducting mandatory daily checks on vehicles and equipment, reporting defects or safety concerns immediately via the VRC APP, and carrying out basic care and maintenance to plant, tools, and equipment.

The ideal candidate will be a dependable, reliable, and enthusiastic individual who is comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and undertaking the hands-on, physical tasks associated with street cleansing. A Full UK driving licence (Category B licence) is essential, along with experience in an active, operational role and evidence of having worked successfully as part of a team. You must be an excellent communicator, able to clearly understand written and verbal instructions, and possess basic knowledge of employee obligations with regard to Health and Safety.

This role is for 37 hours per week, but to ensure flexibility and promote an inclusive workplace, part-time hours or a job share agreement will be considered.
