Administrative Assistant with hands‑on Canopy software experience
Base pay range$28.00/hr - $28.00/hr
This is an excellent opportunity for an Administrative Assistant with hands‑on Canopy software experience to step into a fast‑paced CPA environment during its busiest season. Supporting a well‑established professional services firm, this onsite role in Norwood, MA offers full‑time hours (9:00 AM‑5:00 PM, with flexibility for 8:00 AM‑4:00 PM), competitive pay of $28 per hour, and free parking. The assignment begins mid‑January and runs for 3+ months, making it ideal for a detail‑driven professional who enjoys making an immediate impact and keeping operations running smoothly.
Job Responsibilities- Serve as the first point of contact by answering and directing phone calls professionally
- Greet and assist clients and visitors, delivering a polished front‑office experience
- Maintain and organize filing systems and administrative records
- Support team members by responding to administrative requests and inquiries
- Receive, process, and distribute mail, including generating shipping labels as needed
- Manage databases, including adding new clients, updating information, and purging inactive records
- Assist with general office tasks and operational projects to keep workflows running smoothly
- Perform other related administrative duties as assigned
- Prior experience using Canopy software in a CPA firm is strongly preferred
- 1‑2 years of experience in an administrative or office management role within a CPA firm, law firm, or professional services environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a client‑service focus
- Excellent organizational, time management, and attention‑to‑detail skills
- Ability to prioritize and work efficiently in a fast‑paced setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with accounting or tax software is a plus
- Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently while taking direction as needed
