This is an excellent opportunity for an Administrative Assistant with hands-on Canopy software experience to step into a fast-paced CPA environment during its busiest season. Supporting a well-established professional services firm, this onsite role in Norwood, MA offers full-time hours (9:00 AM-5:00 PM, with flexibility for 8:00 AM-4:00 PM), competitive pay of $28 per hour, and free parking. The assignment begins mid-January and runs for 3+ months, making it ideal for a detail‑driven professional who enjoys making an immediate impact and keeping operations running smoothly.

Job Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact by answering and directing phone calls professionally
  • Greet and assist clients and visitors, delivering a polished front‑office experience
  • Maintain and organize filing systems and administrative records
  • Support team members by responding to administrative requests and inquiries
  • Receive, process, and distribute mail, including generating shipping labels as needed
  • Manage databases, including adding new clients, updating information, and purging inactive records
  • Assist with general office tasks and operational projects to keep workflows running smoothly
  • Perform other related administrative duties as assigned
Candidate Qualifications
  • Prior experience using Canopy software in a CPA firm is strongly preferred
  • 1‑2 years of experience in an administrative or office management role within a CPA firm, law firm, or professional services environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a client‑service focus
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and attention‑to‑detail skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work efficiently in a fast‑paced setting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with accounting or tax software is a plus
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently while taking direction as needed
