Operations Manager, Civil Engineering
Overview
Reporting to the Vice President, Project Management, New England, the Project Executive will be responsible for managing, directing, and developing the Civil and Utility market throughout the New England states.
This position requires overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of the group, including project performance and accountability. You will work with staff to review project status and proactively identify issues that require immediate resolution. Additionally, you will be responsible for the overall management of proposal preparation and submission, participate in client interviews and negotiations as required, and work closely with the estimating department on estimates and major subcontractor or vendor purchases.
It is critical that, as a member of the Project Executive team, you provide strong leadership and ensure that the company maintains its presence in the marketplace as a known for responsiveness, safety, quality, professionalism, and integrity. It is imperative that you work closely with corporate safety to enforce protocols and maintain a high awareness of safety throughout the workforce.
Core Responsibilities- Interpreting architectural and engineering drawings and specifications
- Developing CPM preconstruction and construction schedules
- Preparing budgets for cost estimating and construction
- Estimating for preliminary design pricing
- Estimating for final construction documents and contracts
- Cost control and change management for projects under construction
- Knowledge of building materials and products; knowledge and experience in means and methods of commercial construction; knowledge of construction contracts, construction law, and bonding and insurance requirements; knowledge of construction safety requirements and a commitment to safety as a first priority
- BS in Engineering or related degree or equivalent significant relevant work experience. Advanced degree and professional registration a plus.
- Experience managing multiple simultaneous complex projects ranging from $1M to $50M required; experience managing larger scale projects from $50M to $200M a plus.
- Must have strong skills in understanding strategy of the "Master Project Plan" with ability to anticipate issues and opportunities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction cycle related to aspects of full scope of work, estimates, plans and specifications.
- Be able to proactively influence and establish positive working relationships with clients, unions, subcontractors and BOND employees.
- Must be detail‑oriented, organized, flexible, and able to effectively multitask while working in a fast‑paced environment.
- Possesses excellent time management and prioritization skills to ensure deadlines are met while providing accurate deliverables.
- OSHA 30‑Hour Training.
- Willingness to travel and work on projects throughout New England.
- Must have a robust knowledge of Primavera, scheduling software, document management software, MS Project software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook).
