Job Title: Admissions Counselor and Summer Staff
Location: Norwood, MA (Year-Round) + Live-on-Campus Role in Summer
Salary: $60,000–$65,000 including summer stipend
Job Type: Full-time, Exempt
Role OverviewThe Admissions Counselor and Summer Staff manages a portfolio of prospective families for EXPLO Summer Programs, guiding them from inquiry through enrollment. During the summer, this position transitions into a residential staff role, contributing to student life, programming, or operations depending on experience and skill set.
What You’ll Do Admissions & Recruitment (Year-Round)- Conduct outreach to prospective families via phone, email, web, social media, and in-person events.
- Meet enrollment goals using effective sales and relationship-building strategies.
- Manage applicants from inquiry through enrollment and maintain admissions tracking.
- Interview and evaluate students, making admissions decisions that support an inclusive campus community.
- Collaborate with Admissions, Programs, Student Financial Aid, Marketing, Analytics, and Operations teams.
- Live on campus for one week of orientation + four weeks of student programming.
- Serve in a role aligned with your skills (student life, programming, or operations).
- Execute campus responsibilities determined prior to program start.
- Contribute ideas for improving programming and recruitment.
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree (required).
- 2–5 years of experience in admissions, education, youth programming, or related fields.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage multiple priorities.
- Cultural competence and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Adaptability and a “make-it-happen” mindset.
- Required on-campus residency during summer program.
- Occasional evenings/weekends.
- Domestic travel for recruitment.
