Description
BETA is seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to join our team. This position will play a key role in performing traffic and transportation design and developing contract plans.
Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering design for traffic analysis, traffic signal sequencing, phasing and timing, and traffic modeling and simulation
- Prepare engineering plans for traffic signals, intersection geometry, pavement markings and signage, temporary traffic control and construction staging plans
- Assist in the preparation of contract documents, including plans, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates
- Lead technical tasks on various traffic and transportation projects
- Collaborate with design team members

Required Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- 4+ years of related engineering experience in traffic and transportation projects
- Fundamentals in Engineering (FE / EIT) certification
- Demonstrated strong background in traffic and transportation engineering
- Proficiency in Synchro/Sim Traffic (Vissim experience is advantageous)
- Experience working with AutoCAD Civil3D and Microstation Open Roads
- Knowledge of MUTCD, AASHTO and MASSDOT design policy guidelines and requirements
- Must be able to collect field data and measurements including but not limited to roadway, sidewalk, and utility assets; and perform asset inspections
- Must be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow)
- Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Professional Engineer (PE) License

$88,000-$115,000 or commensurate
