Entry Level Geo Structural Engineer

GZA Geo Environmental, Inc. (GZA) is seeking Entry Level Geo Structural Engineers to join our growing team working on the technical execution of transportation, building, energy, and other infrastructure projects. This position is based in Norwood, MA. A strong academic record, civil engineering skills, analytical and communication skills, and a willingness to travel locally and regionally are essential. Preference will be given to candidates with a Geo Structural engineering background.

• Perform technical aspects of projects under the supervision of project managers or principals.
• Work with project teams on Geo Structural engineering projects that involve design, fieldwork, data collection and evaluation, and Geo Structural engineering analysis for transportation, building, waterfront, energy, and other infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with the design team to detail temporary support of excavations, existing and new structures, heavy construction equipment, live vehicle traffic, permanent structures, shielding, erection, demolition engineering, and various Geo Structural Engineering tasks; perform detailed geotechnical and structural analysis and design using both geotechnical and structural software and spreadsheet tools.
• Draft field and engineering reports, and prepare design packages with supporting calculations and construction drawings.
• Operate and oversee structural and geotechnical engineering systems, including data collection and system maintenance and repairs.
• Assist with additional projects and tasks outside primary responsibilities as the One Company culture encourages cross‑functional collaboration.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Entry‑level candidates welcomed; 1‑2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Fluency in one or more Autodesk CAD/CAM programs; REVIT and MathCAD are pluses.
• Experience with structural/geotechnical engineering software and spreadsheets preferred.
• Highly motivated self‑starter with a professional attitude.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to perform field tasks and activities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel locally and regionally.
• 10‑hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health Certificate is a plus.
• 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER training is a plus.

The base salary for this position may range between $72,000 and $90,000. The actual base salary and total compensation will depend on factors such as location, candidate experience, education, professional licensure, and other qualifications.
