Collins is seeking a highly motivated Civil Project Engineer for our Design Group to play a key role on our team in Norwood, MA office. The ideal candidate will have experience in highway/transportation focus who can bring creative problem‑solving skills balanced with the ability to develop a strong design background. This position will have the ability to work on contracts with MassDOT, MBTA, RIDOT, or NHDOT, liaise with clients and government agencies, and participate on design teams.

Base pay range$85,000.00/hr - $/hr
Typical Duties And Responsibilities- Prepares and designs plans for site grading, drainage, paving, utilities, and roadways for public and private sector clients. Contributes significantly to projects of all sizes.
- Prepares hydrology, earthwork, and roadway plans and profile evaluations.
- Assists in collecting due diligence information and preparing concept site engineering plans.
- Contributes significantly to the preparation of engineering reports, plans, and specifications.
- Prepares submittals to State, Municipal, and other agencies.
- Applies judgement on design decisions and selects from standard engineering techniques and alternatives.
- Makes independent decisions within a general framework and work within agreed upon timelines and budgets.
- Keeps Project Engineer and Project Manager informed of workload and any changes in project scope or additional services.
- Interacts with other departments and offices in order to coordinate work.
- Is active in technical societies.
- Responsible for small to moderately difficult projects from inception to completion.
- Has some communication with clients.
- Is available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
- Directs and supervises the work of entry‑level engineers, technicians, drafters and administrative staff.
- Actively observes and acts in an appropriate manner related to safety.
