Technician- Heavy Assembly

Overview

Instron is a global organization that designs, manufactures, sells and services mechanical testing systems. We are looking for a candidate who builds, tests, troubleshoots and repairs large industrial automated equipment with a strong emphasis on electrical and mechanical systems. The role requires proficiency in software formats used for diagnostics and control systems and provides direct support to engineering teams, particularly in the integration and optimization of large mechanical structures.

• Build, test, troubleshoot and repair large industrial automated equipment with emphasis on electrical and mechanical systems.
• Maintain proficiency in applicable software formats used for diagnostics and control systems.
• Provide direct support to engineering teams, particularly in the integration and optimization of large mechanical structures.
• Work with large mechanical assemblies such as aircraft, marine vessels, wind energy systems, or other large electromechanical equipment.
• Follow safety practices, wear PPE, and champion safety within the department.
• Interpret and follow work instructions, blueprints, schematics or drawings with minimal supervision.
• Interact with ITW values and behaviors — Integrity, Respect, Trust, Shared Risk and Simplicity.

• Minimum of an associate's degree or technical training certification.
• At least three years of direct experience in a relevant field.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, mechanical components, and automated equipment.
• Experience with large-scale mechanical structures and heavy equipment handling.
• Forklift and crane operation certification preferred (training available).
• Familiarity with safety compliance documentation and procedures.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and build to blueprints, schematics or drawings.
• Ability to collaborate with Sustaining Engineering to redesign, troubleshoot and validate products.
• English communication skills required.

• Base pay range: $22.00/hr - $24.50/hr.
• Starting salary range is $22.00 to $24.50 per hour, determined by experience, skills and qualifications.
