Teacher/Counselor (Residential Counselor)

• Salary: $69,888
• Shift: 56 hours per week (Thursday 3pm‑10pm, 10pm‑8am; Friday 2pm‑10pm; Saturday 8am‑am; Sunday 8am‑2pm)
As a member of our team, you will support adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities, providing advocacy, empowerment, and opportunity. You will work in one of our residential programs to enhance the lives of the individuals you serve.
Essential Duties- Promotes optimal health for individuals through routine, preventive, and emergency health care.
- Responsible for assisting with all hands‑on direct care which includes but not limited to: showering, toileting, shaving, brushing teeth, meal‑time assistance.
- Ensures that residential environments are safe and secure and where individuals are free from harm.
- Provide education training, counseling, and physical assistance when necessary to achieve ISP goals in the following areas: functional academics, domestic skills, health and personal hygiene, social and leisure skills, communication skills, community mobility, self‑esteem, and money management.
- Develop, write and present annual ISPs and semi‑annual assessments in consultation with other residential staff and directors.
- Provides transportation to individuals as necessary.
- Communicate with persons significant to the individual served (i.e., family, friends, guardians, funding sources, advocates, volunteers, employers) to facilitate consistency of programming and support.
- Performs case management duties including, maintenance of individual confidential files, ensuring cases are reviewed, documentation of activities, and training. Attends regular meetings as necessary.
- Experience working with individuals with /DD.
- A bachelor’s degree or an associate degree in a related field with two years of experience, or HS diploma and five years of related work experience in Human Services.
- Must be able to pass fingerprint background check, CORI, DPPC and driving background checks.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Valid MAP certification preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
