The Parts Counter Salesperson is responsible for assisting wholesale and retail customers with parts inquiries, orders, and support both in-person and via phone or electronic communication. This role plays a key part in maintaining strong customer relationships, ensuring order accuracy, and contributing to overall departmental performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist customers and service technicians in identifying required parts using electronic catalogs and other resources.
  • Process parts orders accurately and efficiently through the dealership’s DMS (Dealer Management System).
  • Provide price quotes, availability information, and delivery timelines to wholesale and retail customers.
  • Handle phone, walk-in, and online orders in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with wholesale accounts by providing exceptional service and support.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and delivery staff to ensure timely dispatch and delivery of parts.
  • Follow up on back ordered items and communicate status updates to customers.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Ford parts and accessories, promotions, and warranty policies.
  • Support inventory control through returns processing, stock adjustments, and periodic counts.
  • Work collaboratively with the service and body shop departments to fulfill internal parts requests.
  • Comply with all safety standards, dealership policies, and manufacturer guidelines.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training a plus.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in automotive parts sales, preferably in a dealership or wholesale environment.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems, Ford OEM parts preferred.
  • Proficient in using parts lookup software (such as Snap on, Ford EPC) and DMS systems (e.g., CDK, Reynolds).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, lifting, and carrying of parts up to 50 lbs.
  • Use of computer terminals, phones, and standard office equipment.
