Position:
Medical Assistant
Medical Assistants are multi-skilled clinical professionals working within their scope of practice, providing indirect and/or direct patient care under provider supervision.
Responsibilities- Assist in completing patient assessments, including vital signs and documentation of needs.
- Identify significant changes in patient condition and report to the provider.
- Adhere to legal responsibilities and standards of excellence.
- Participate in planning and implementing patient care within scope.
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed, following state regulations.
- Document accurately in EMR and manage patient communications.
- Order supplies, track referrals, labs, and diagnostic tests.
8 AM to 5 PM, Tuesday through Thursday.
Licensing/Certification Requirements- Medical Assisting certification (within 12 months of employment): CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMAC.
- BLS certification preferred upon hire, required before independent patient care.
- High school diploma; vocational/technical degree preferred.
- Enrollment in an approved Medical Assistant program required within 30 days of employment.
- Minimum one year healthcare experience or 24 months clerical physician practice experience preferred.
