Quality Program Manager (SQF Practitioner)

Responsibilities- Identify, analyze, and resolve internal quality issues; lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and report findings to key stakeholders
- Plan and execute quality and food safety improvement projects across production operations
- Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) standards aligned with SQF and recognized industry requirements
- Coordinate supply chain quality controls, including COAs, logs, certifications, and GFSI documentation
- Track, analyze, and close customer complaints; maintain reporting and customer portals
- Lead internal audit program: create audit schedule, conduct audits, and train cross‑functional internal auditors
- Manage document control, change management, and system revision tracking
- Coordinate in‑house and third‑party calibration programs, maintaining compliance records
- Maintain working knowledge of food safety regulations and ensure operational compliance (HACCP, FSMA, SQF, etc.)
- Develop and deliver training programs on hygiene, food safety, and regulatory requirements
- Oversee non‑conforming materials and product holds to ensure proper segregation, documentation, and disposition
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen food safety and quality culture
- Participate in external regulatory, certification, and customer audits (FDA, USDA, SQF, etc.)
- Assist with KPI reporting, trend analysis, and quality performance metrics
- Serve as a resource for production teams on quality standards, procedures, and troubleshooting
- Promote and enforce safety standards and GMP compliance on the production floor
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Quality, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, food safety, or manufacturing quality role
- Strong understanding of food safety programs: HACCP, SQF, PCQI, GMPs, FSMA
- Experience managing corrective actions, internal audits, complaint systems, and document control
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for food manufacturing (FDA/USDA preferred)
- Excellent problem‑solving, root‑cause analysis, and decision‑making skills
- Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and train personnel in quality programs
- Strong communication and documentation skills, able to interact with all levels of the organization
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.); experience with quality or formulation software a plus

Salary: $55,500.00 – $74,500.00
