You will assist in delivering audits in line with UK auditing standards and Companies Act requirements, perform audit testing across a range of areas, and support the review of financial statements. The role includes assessing audit risks, understanding internal controls, and escalating issues appropriately.
Client DetailsWe’re currently working with a Top 15 UK accountancy and advisory firm in the Nottingham area that is actively looking to strengthen its audit team at the Semi Senior level. This firm has a strong national presence, a collaborative audit culture, and a clear track record of developing auditors through to Manager and beyond.
Description- Assist in the planning and execution of audits for a diverse range of clients.
- Prepare financial statements in compliance with relevant standards.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and audit files for review.
- Work closely with the audit team to ensure the timely completion of assignments.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, providing exceptional service.
- Support the management of junior staff, providing on‑the‑job training and supervision.
- Ensure compliance with firm procedures and relevant regulations.
- Assist in the review of clients internal control processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Studying toward ACA / ACCA (or qualified by experience)
- Audit experience gained within an accountancy practice
- Good working knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards
- Confident managing your own workload across multiple assignments
- Keen to develop toward a Senior Auditor role
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, team‑focused approach
- Exposure to group audits or larger clients would be advantageous
