A strong opportunity for a Semi-Senior Accountant to join a growing practice, supporting a varied portfolio of SME and owner‑managed business clients. The role offers hands‑on exposure across accounts, tax and client advisory work, ideal for someone progressing within practice.
Client DetailsOur client is a well‑established and expanding independent accountancy firm with a strong presence in the East Midlands. They support a broad range of SMEs, sole traders and owner‑managed businesses, providing tailored accounting, tax and advisory services. The firm offers excellent exposure to varied clients and a clear pathway for progression within a supportive and professional environment.
Description- Prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Assist on audit assignments, supporting planning and fieldwork through to completion
- Prepare corporation tax and personal tax returns
- Support with bookkeeping and VAT returns where required
- Work closely with senior staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of client work
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, responding to queries and providing support
- Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial analysis
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and deadlines
- Support the development of internal processes and efficiencies
- Liaise with HMRC and other external stakeholders when required
- AAT qualified or part‑qualified ACA or ACCA
- Experience with in an accountancy practice environment
- Exposure to accounts preparation and tax work
- Some audit experience preferred but not essential
- Good understanding of UK accounting standards and compliance
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confident communicator with a client‑focused approach
- Motivated to progress and develop within practice
- Competitive salary depending on experience
