A strong opportunity for a Senior Audit professional to lead a varied portfolio of SME and owner‑managed business clients, delivering both audit and accounts services.
Client DetailsOur client is a well‑established and growing independent accountancy practice with a strong reputation supporting SME and owner‑managed businesses. The firm works closely with clients across a broad range of sectors, providing hands‑on audit, accounts and advisory services. With a focus on building long‑term relationships, the team offers exposure to varied engagements, from sole traders through to corporate audit assignments.
Description- Lead audit assignments for SMEs, owner‑managed businesses and group structures from planning through to completion
- Deliver statutory audits alongside accounts preparation for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, developing strong and trusted relationships
- Prepare and review financial statements in line with UK GAAP
- Support clients with day‑to‑day queries, providing practical and commercial advice
Supervise and review work prepared by junior staff, providing guidance and technical support - Assist with corporation tax computations and compliance work
- Manage multiple client deadlines, ensuring high‑quality delivery and compliance
- Support managers and partners on more complex audit and advisory assignments
- ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience
- Strong background in audit within practice, with exposure to SMEs and OMB clients
- Experience leading audits and managing client relationships
- Good technical knowledge across audit, accounts preparation and compliance
- Confident communicator with a client‑focused approach
- Organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
- Experience with sole traders and smaller business clients advantageous
- Competitive salary (38,) depending on experience
