Payroll Officer needed in Nottingham Paying £15.31 per hr

Full time hours on a temporary basis

• Administer and maintain payroll and pension systems, ensuring all records are accurate, up to date, and compliant with statutory regulations.
• Process payroll-related transactions, including colleague expenses, statutory payments, and absence-related adjustments within agreed timescales.
• Operate and reconcile payroll control accounts, including net pay and pension accounts, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of financial records.
• Maintain manual and computerised payroll records and undertake regular reconciliations, investigating and correcting discrepancies where required.
• Extract, analyse, and interpret payroll and financial data to produce reports, returns, and management information.
• Support monthly, period-end, and year-end payroll processes, ensuring all deadlines and statutory requirements are met.
• Assist in the preparation of statutory returns, financial accounts, and reports, and provide support to internal and external auditors.
• Respond to complex payroll enquiries in a professional and confidential manner, ensuring compliance with Data Protection legislation.
• Identify process improvements and contribute to system enhancements, business transformation initiatives, and the development of payroll procedures and manuals.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, managers, pension providers, auditors, and external agencies.
• Provide cover and support across the wider finance function as required.
