This is a hands-on end-to-end payroll role with plenty of autonomy, making it ideal for someone who enjoys managing multiple client payrolls and building strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

* Process a portfolio of weekly and monthly client payrolls from start to finish.

* Manage approximately 70–100 payrolls, varying in size and complexity.

* Maintain employee records, process starters, leavers and payroll amendments.

* Complete RTI submissions, year-end processes and statutory reporting.

* Administer Auto Enrolment and pension submissions, ensuring compliance with deadlines.

* Process CIS returns and BACS payment files for clients.

* Liaise with HMRC and resolve payroll-related queries.

* Build strong relationships with clients, providing expert payroll support and advice.

* Support the Payroll Manager when required and assist colleagues across the wider payroll team.

* Keep up to date with payroll legislation and contribute to maintaining high service standards.
What They're Looking For

* At least 3 years' end-to-end UK payroll experience, ideally within a payroll bureau or accountancy practice.

* Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, RTI, Auto Enrolment and statutory payments.

* Experience processing multiple client payrolls simultaneously.

* Confident carrying out manual payroll calculations when required.

* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

* Excellent communication and client relationship skills.

* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

* Experience with payroll software such as Sage, IRIS Payroll Professional, Earnie or Xero Payroll would be advantageous.

* A proactive team player with excellent attention to detail and a customer-focused approach.
