You’ll join the finance team of a further education provider in the North West, stepping in to keep day-to-day accounting running smoothly during a period of cover.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can pick things up quickly, work accurately to deadlines and support colleagues across the organisation with finance queries.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining accurate financial records and processing transactions across purchase and sales ledgers.
• Preparing and posting journals and supporting month-end routines.
• Carrying out reconciliations and resolving queries promptly.
• Responding to finance queries from budget holders, suppliers and colleagues.
• Supporting wider finance reporting as required.

• Previous experience in an accounts or finance officer role
• Confident using finance systems and spreadsheets
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Able to work to deadlines and manage a varied workload

Desirable (but not essential):

• Experience with in further education or the wider public sector
• An AAT qualification, or part-qualification towards a recognised accounting body
