The Role
Bidford on Avon C of E Primary School is seeking to appoint a friendly, professional and highly organised School Receptionist to join our welcoming team. This is a key front‑of‑house role, providing a warm and positive first impression to pupils, parents, staff and visitors.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work 32.5 hours per week. The role will initially be fixed term until the end of the academic year.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a calm and approachable manner, and the ability to manage a busy reception area efficiently. Strong administrative and organisational skills are essential, along with confidence in using IT systems and handling confidential information sensitively.
Responsibilities- Managing the main reception area and welcoming visitors
- Answering telephone and email enquiries
- Supporting attendance and pupil records
- Assisting with general administrative tasks
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed
- Previous experience in a receptionist, front of house, or administrative role (school experience desirable)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional, welcoming and approachable manner
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
- Ability to remain calm and efficient in a busy school environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general IT systems
- Accurate data entry and record‑keeping skills
- Experience handling confidential information with discretion
- Strong telephone etiquette and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures (training can be provided)
