About

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and organised administrator to join the Postgraduate Taught (PGT) Programmes Team, part of the Education Centre within the School of Medicine. You will join a dynamic and friendly team, working alongside a diverse range of clinical and non‑clinical academics and fellow APM colleagues.

The main purpose of this role is to provide administrative support for the School of Medicine PGT programmes (PG Cert, PG Dip, and MSc). This includes supporting curriculum review, timetabling, programme‑specific events, and key stages of the student lifecycle, such as induction, assessments, progression, and graduation. You will act as a first point of contact for students and staff, delivering a professional, responsive, and student‑focused service.

You will work closely with designated Academic Unit(s) on a day‑to‑day basis while contributing to the smooth delivery of the wider PGT portfolio. The role involves regular collaboration with academic colleagues, central professional services, and other administrators to ensure accurate and timely programme administration.

Working within a supportive team structure, you will manage competing priorities, use initiative, and elevate issues when appropriate. The role is suited to detail‑oriented individuals who can work to deadlines and manage a busy workload during peak periods of the academic cycle.

This is a varied and rewarding role that offers an excellent opportunity to develop higher education administration experience, gain exposure to a wide range of programme‑related activity, and build strong professional relationships across the School.

About You

You will work with established procedures with minimal day‑to‑day supervision, providing a range of services to agreed quality standards. You will have a thorough understanding of relevant systems and processes, gained through a vocational qualification and work experience or several years of relevant work experience.

You will organise your day‑to‑day work to meet clear objectives and take responsibility for a clearly defined section of work. You will manage queries, issues, and requests, referring complex situations to your line manager or academic lead. Independence and initiative are essential.

The School of Medicine values continuous professional development and provides structured support and opportunities to engage in professional growth each year. You will be part of a team that values collaboration, innovation, and the positive impact of education on healthcare.

Essential experience and skills include:

  • Working as part of a team in an office‑based role
  • Accuracy when handling finance or numerical data
  • High‑level IT skills
  • Excellent planning, organisation, and communication skills

Applications are particularly welcomed from candidates with experience of University of Nottingham systems (including Uni Core and Key Travel) and experience supporting conferences or events.

What We Offer
  • A friendly, diverse, and supportive working environment
  • A hybrid working arrangement with the blended approach of home and office working each week

  • Our reward scheme grants bonuses of numerous values for excellent work
