HGV Technician

Our client, a reputable and long-established commercial vehicle dealership in Nottingham, is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join their busy workshop team. Duties of a HGV Technician:

• Conduct servicing, maintenance, and repairs on commercial vehicles
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults accurately
• Complete vehicle inspections in line with manufacturer and DVSA standards
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and perform necessary adjustments
• Complete all workshop documentation and job cards diligently
• Attend manufacturer training courses to enhance technical expertise
• Work efficiently to meet workshop productivity and quality targets
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, attention to detail, and safety compliance

Requirements of a HGV Technician:

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, IMI, BTEC or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• Proven experience within a commercial vehicle workshop environment
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Positive, proactive attitude with enthusiasm and motivation
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• IRTEC accreditation is advantageous but not essential
• HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence would be beneficial but is not essential
