Job Description & How to Apply Below

This role sits at the heart of APIL's membership operations. You will help ensure our expert subscriber community receives a professional, consistent and high quality experience, while also supporting recruitment and retention activity. Alongside managing applications and renewals, you will build positive relationships with prospective and existing subscribers through structured follow-up and engagement activity. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining standards, supporting growth, and protecting revenue.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys combining organisation and accuracy with communication and relationship building.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting new and renewing expert subscribers through their application process
  • Carrying out verification and documentation checks with care and consistency
  • Maintaining accurate CRM and directory records
  • Engaging proactively with prospective and lapsed subscribers via telephone and email
  • Supporting inbox and enquiry management as part of a shared team rota
  • Working collaboratively across the organisation to ensure a smooth member experience

You will be trusted to manage your own workload and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Membership Officer to join our friendly and committed Membership Services team. This is an opportunity to play a meaningful role within an organisation that has genuine influence in its sector.

What we're looking for
  • Organised, methodical and highly accurate
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities
  • Confident and professional on the telephone
  • A strong written communicator
  • Proactive and willing to take ownership
  • Friendly, calm and solutions-focused

You may have experience in a membership body, accreditation environment, subscription service, professional services organisation or similar process-led administrative role. Knowledge of the legal sector is helpful but not essential. What matters most is your attention to detail, reliability and commitment to delivering excellent service.
